Improvements to how you find and add operations to cases have been rolled out to take advantage of enhanced integration and interactions between the CASE and Builder applications.
Platform users will see improvements to the interface, speed/performance, and ease of use when searching for and adding operations to a case.
Builder application administrators are able to add individual operations for use by their locations. They can create Builder user accounts and grant users access to input or manage operations.
What's New
Cleaner Interface
To make finding operations easier, the first two tabs on the Add Operation screen are now combined and simplified. You'll now see one tab for pre-built operations from the Builder application and one for Custom Operations. This combined tab of pre-built operations shows all operations that are relevant to the asset in your case from Mack-Volvo, set up by your Builder administrator, or from other sources (e.g., Cummins).
Improved Search
When a user searches for an operation, the results will clearly display under a header that shows the system, sub-system, and operation(s) for each result. Filtering of operations will now be by Year, Make, Model, and Engine to limit the results to operations relevant only to the asset in question. Also, to prevent long load-times and timeouts on operations searches, any search that would return more than 100 operations will result in an error message.
Easily Add Multiple Operations
The steps and effort required to add multiple operations are now simpler and easier to navigate.
If you only want to add one operation, you can click "Add Now" to add just that operation and go directly into the Edit Operation screen.
To add multiple operations while staying on the Add Operation screen, find the first desired operation and click "Add to List" to immediately add that operation to the case while remaining on Add Operation to search for and select additional operations. All operations added to the list are shown at the top of the Add Operation screen.
Users Affected by These Changes
All locations onboarded before July 2017 will receive all of these improvements. Customers onboarded after July 2017 already see one combined tab of pre-built operations and will only notice the other improvements identified above.
Look for additional in-platform messages as these improvements are rolled out to stay up to date.
