Overview
Builder is an application for creating and managing operations and electronic inspections. It allows you to map these operations and inspections to other applications, such as your management system.
Why Build Operations and Inspections?
Repairs are billed to customers based on Standard Repair Times (SRTs) in the mechanical repair industry. SRTs represent the typical labor time required for specific repairs multiplied by the service provider's labor rate. They have become the standard for billing repairs, ensuring service providers charge a consistent rate for similar repairs.
Published labor guides, like the Heavy-Duty Truck Labor Guide published by MOTOR, act as a benchmark for how long many common repairs should take in a professional mechanic shop to quickly establish the cost of repairs. This dramatically reduces the time needed to create asset-specific repair estimates. Using consistent standard repair times for the same repairs can speed up the approval process by enhancing customer confidence in their chosen service provider.
Using Builder, registered customers, service providers, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can create customized sets of operations. These operations may include parts, labor times, and inspections, which help provide guidance and create estimates that inform customer invoices. Predefined operations enhance the speed, accuracy, and consistency of the estimating and invoicing process.
Integrating these operations with business systems helps ensure that estimates accurately reflect costs, preventing customers from being surprised by the final invoice. Moreover, predefined operations simplify data reporting, enhancing internal reporting processes. When used alongside electronic inspections, these predefined operations also facilitate the tracking and reporting of any recommended additional repairs, commonly known as "upsell" repairs.
Additionally, the ease of VMRS coding prebuilt operations will provide customers with the additional data they desire.
